Happy 100th

We (Laura and I) made it! To the 100th 'sode of Smallville. (Don't judge me, I'm sure you have your diligently watched shows too. You should share them in the comments. Please? :) It was a joyful and sad  experience all at the same time. Joyful because I LOVE Smallville, sad because one of my favorite characters died. Also because we watch them on DVD, we make them fit in our schedules rather than working our schedules around it. I realized that we are catching up to the current season pretty quickly. When that happens, no more watching them whenever we want. AND I'll have to wait ONE whole week to see the next 'sode. And no watching 2 (or three or four...shh, it's our secret) in a row. I have a couple ideas that reconcile me. The first is we can start all over again! :) The second, we can move onto Lois and Clark. Dean Cain's pretty cute too...

(Shake head back to present) Back on subject, Here are a couple pictures captured of the special event.

I know this next image may be a little confusing (It was L's idea :) We aren't kissing each other, we're kissing Clark.

We even baked a cake! (That was my idea). Any little excuse is good enough for cake! (Under my jacket I'm wearing Space Ghost. Don't tell Clark. That's our secret too. I don't even know who Space Ghost is. I just really like that shirt. When I wear the shirt people (usually people I don't know) always come up to me and say, "I love that show!" Maybe I should look it up and see what it is someday.) Okay post over, now that I've blabbed on. Bad habit. It's my blog and I'll type all I want to. :)

P.S. Thanks for sticking around. :)

We used to watch Smallville pretty religiously. The First Season was a little rough—seriously, how many Kryptonite enhanced monsters can there be? Then it got a little better as it started to explore the real strength of the Superman stories—his relationship with Lex Luthor. It was pretty good for a few seasons, and then in an effort to get ratings back (because, seriously—20 somethings playing teenagers for four years gets a little—ridiculous) season five got all sexy and we just stopped watching.

Every so often I would catch an advertisement and laugh at where they were taking the show—it felt like they were grooming it for transition into a Justice League of America show. I seem to recall an Iceman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Flash. Not the Traditional Justice League, but close enough. It just felt like they were trying too hard to find ways to keep the show going without messing up the Real DC Universe Canon—except, they kept messing it up more and more, instead of just exploring what makes Superman tick.

Keep in mind that this is coming from a certified Extreme Geek—so I'm probably over thinking it. I own a LOT of Superman comics for the record.

Also, Space Ghost was a Hanna-Barbara sci-fi cartoon from the 60's, but his comeback is not a sci-fi cartoon. It's called Space Ghost Coast to Coast and is a late night talk show (yes, he sits behind a desk and interviews people—but it's so much weirder than that). I personally don't like it much—the humor is random and nonsensical, but stupid. I like my humor to random and nonsensical (sometimes even gross) but above all, it must be intelligent.

look at me, rambling on and on—letting my geek show.

Wow, long post up there! Kudos for getting to the 100th! As you know, this season (8th) is by far best yet. Can't wait till you catch up with us!

Yeah we did used to watch Smallville religiously, I loved it! Maybe I'll have to get the DVD's at the library and catch up (skipping the "sexy" parts).
I used to watch Lois and Clark too.
We like way too many shows! 24 is one we only watch on DVD (too intense to wait a week. Others we like are House, Bones, Scrubs, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, American Idol, The Office, 30 Rock and Lost. Like I said way too many shows!

Well you know my facination with M*A*S*H I have watched every episode at least 5 times and my favorites dozens. I think every one has a guilty pleasure whether they will admit it or not. I don't blame you for your crush on Superman of course my favorite has always been and will be Christopher Reeve. ohh yeah!

Katie you don't know who Space Ghost is? Didn't you have Mr. Brooks? On the days that he didn't want to play in band, we would watch Space Ghost instead. I didn't really care for the show, but didn't mine it since it was a free hour to do what ever we wanted.

I watched Lois and Clark very religiously. Dean Cain was such a hottie. (He has lost a little favor in my book since he's done nothing with his life since Lois and Clark though)

We don't watch anything right now. But I don't say that with any hint of self righteousness because I watch a lot of movies! (as you have probably guessed) I think when you catch up on Smallville you should ditch TV on DVD and start watching a bunch of movies so you can be a formidable contender on Name That Movie Monday. You know, in case I ever start giving out actually prizes. :)
